Publication Highlight: FIND: A Synthetic weather generator to control drought Frequency, Intensity, and Duration

In a recently published Environmental Modeling and Software article, FIND: A Synthetic weather generator to control drought Frequency, Intensity, and Duration, authors Dr. Marta Zaniolo, Dr. Sarah Fletcher, and Dr. Meagan Mauter propose a new open-source synthetic weather generator named FIND (Frequency, INtensity, and Duration) to generate a wide range of plausible future drought conditions. The generator is designed to preserve hydrological variability while perturbing the frequency, intensity, and duration of droughts represented by streamflow time series based on a standardized drought index. This makes FIND valuable for future water systems analysis problems seeking to test performance across a wide range of plausible future drought conditions as well as bottom-up vulnerability studies based on frequency, intensity, and duration of droughts.
