Meet the PI

Dr. Sarah Fletcher (she/her)

Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, and Lee and Kitty Price Center Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.

I have a PhD in Engineering Systems from MIT's Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a researcher and consultant on issues at the intersection of water, energy, and environment. I have an M.S. in Technology and Policy from MIT and a B.A. in Physics and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

In my free time, I enjoy rock climbing, playing the violin, baking bread, and reading novels. I am originally from Baltimore, MD.

Here in the lab, we believe in the power of equity, collaboration, and impact.

01

Equity

We invest in learning about and systemic biases in science and our society and actively work towards dismantling systems of oppression.

02

Collaboration

We give and value constructive feedback, embrace failure as a part of growth, and practice accountability and empathy.

03

Impact

Our research is problem-driven from the beginning. We value input, outreach, and partnerships as a part of the research process to enable real-world impact.
