The Fletcher Lab Presents at the Climate & Environmental Justice Conference
PhD candidate Jenny Skerker and Master’s student Adam Nayak of the Fletcher Lab presented at the Climate & Environmental Justice Conference at Santa Clara University on April 27th, 2023. The conference was held April 27-29th and aimed to bring together university faculty and students, community representatives, policymakers, and social ministry leaders to advance transformational changes in Northern California, Latin America, and through Jesuit higher education in order to address systemic environmental injustices that are exacerbated by climate change.
Jenny Skerker and Adam Nayak presented two decision-support frameworks that together seek to design and optimize water utility-level decisions including rate design, infrastructure development, and short-term drought management policies, in order to better support household-level water affordability. They demonstrate frameworks on a case study of Santa Cruz, California.
